Fascinating story breaking at the moment - "AFL Victoria are aware of an investigation that is currently under way in regards to prohibited substances (non illicit) but in order to maintain the integrity of the process they are not in the position to comment any further until the investigation concludes”

In light of the Casserly case last year, will be interesting to see what happens.

Note - I'm assuming the phrase "AFL Victoria" means a second tier competition. It could also be U-18 or Amateurs.

The other point worth noting is the limited scope of drug testing at lower levels. In Casserly's case there were 4 drug tests in all the WAFL in that year. (excluding representative games). Did the WAFL trumpet a 25% positive rate for their drug testing in their annual report?

I imagine AFL Victoria has equally limited numbers of drug tests, so whomever is involved is either very unlucky, or got caught in another investigation - E.G. Customs importation of illegal performance enhancing substances.

Will be curious to see what turns up, and the excuses trotted out.

Given the phrase non illicit is being trotted out, I assume performance enhancing of some variety. Any info as to what drug(s) they were?

So as I intimated early - got caught by an associated investigation, not even testing.

As to his claim of not knowing - Anyone who is the slightest bit aware of fat burning products knows that a lot of the overseas ones will contain ephredine. Ephedrine besides being an apetitie suppresent also assists with concentration. On one angle - I'm calling bulltish to his claim of not knowing something illegal was in it.

On the other angle - importing nutrition supplements from overseas is pretty common primarily due to cost. And if you visit another online forum, they'll even tell you not to import certain supplements in your own name in case there are any issues.

What do I believe? Drug use is pretty common at lower levels, and anyone who gets caught is unlucky (or stupid).
