There is another show on the really can't miss section, well for me it is.
It is The Big Bang Theory.

Just finished watching Boardwalk Empire S2. Season 1 was pretty timid but laid a good foundation of a story. Season 2 was outstanding (but not for the faint hearted)! Since his role as Mr Pink in Reservoir Dogs, Steve Buschemi has been one of my favourite actors.

From a comedy perspective (easily the hardest genre to nail IMO), Modern Family is bloody brilliant! I reckon the neighbours hear me laughing at that show.

Finally, Wilfred on the SBS. The best Aussie comedy in recent memory. So good, the yanks re-made it into a version that they would understand (which is also very good). It's the only Aussie comedy to get a second season in the US.

Is Wilfred back on again? What re-runs?

I watched it a couple of years ago.

I watched that one time and it was about that Arthur Tunstill thing at the Olympics. He was knock from pillar to post over his comments. Then on Media Watch they showed the complete interview and it was not as the comercial tv news had potrayed it.
The whole thing was taken fully out of context. I was glad to see that show, and at that time I too was up in the air about it until I seen the truth.
It went to show me that they (comercial channels) will do for a story, even if it is cut to pieces to make it look and sound worst than it really was.

Yes, I'm a little surprised by it.Good scripts, scenery, and the acting is better than I expected it to be.

I liked Boardwalk Empire, although the final scenes of series 2 were a little sad.

No spoilers on BE, please. I'm way behind as I watch it with a friend who recently had a baby. As such we don't get as much 'watch' time as we used to.

    But he's SO cute! :)

    Cheers!

I started to watch Alcatraz and Revenge, but I was suprised to see how quick I lost interest in both.
I think that they both may end up being like that crap show lost, and just go on forever with nothing really in the show.

After watching Alcatraz Ep #3 I think you might be right, Riddick.

How long will it run? Well, they have to account for 63 returning convicts from the past so I would guess another 60 episodes if they are only going to catch one per week. Of course, they might double or triple up - just to make it interesting - but I am already tired of the hints that there is something big being master-minded by a superior being. Probably Twilight Zone could have done it in a one-hour show but, hey, we're in no hurry, right?

A few comments on recent posts (catching up)

I think obviously many folks have different perspectives, likes and interests so literally one man's crap show is another man's gem.

    Anyway....

2 broke girls: Yeah, I normally avoid the drossy US sitcoms.. pretty lame most of them (Modern Family I don't really class as a sitcom, since it's style is so different). I guess what I like about 2BG is that it's a bit kind of earthy - and I don't just mean the more-crude-than-mainstream-us-tv-used-to-be jokes(I notice a lot of this stuff in US shows recently which I find interesting) but more I feel the show has some clever characters but somehow takes some situations and doesn't always make them go the usual way you think with one of these shows. And ok, I have a crush on Max!! ha ha. And they have a horse!! rofl

Homeland - agree totally - as it goes along it toally ups the ante and is one of those things you just can't put down to the end if it was a book.

Alcatraz - yep, has some formula aspects, but some very interesting stuff developing along quite nicely asking questions with no clear obvious answers. It may get canned at the end of S1 (I have no idea re US viewing figures) but it's keeping me interested more for the background character stuff and what's going on rather than the "find the bad guy of the week" plot. I'm up to ep 7 or so.

Boardwalk Empire - awesome show. As a sci-fi geek it's not the normal kind of thing I watch, but I love this show - even the graphic/difficult parts of it. I find it wonderful to watch - the performances are fantastic, the costumes/set design is really great. Steve B is a fantastic actor. Fantastic.
